two photographers = two perspectives …always

While working on this engagement session, I came across these two images, which I chose to edit because I think they are gorgeous. When I realized they were taken by Kelsey and me at the exact same time, I knew a blog post was in order. These images are a perfect example of why shooting as a team is so fabulous.

Not only is shooting together an absolute blast, but it also allows us to create images from two unique perspectives and the opportunity to get creative – while taking these two images, Kelsey had a portrait lens on her camera, letting me know that she was getting the images we need, so I decided to have some fun utilizing our tilt-shift lens. How awesome is that? To our advantage, during photo sessions we never have the same lenses on our cameras and the imagery we each achieve is entirely different and makes for an abundance of variety. We love creating images together!

More images to come soon, Sandi and Ryan. Enjoy your sneak peek!

My (Kylee’s) Wedding 🙂

Our wedding day went off without a hitch. The day was everything we hoped it would be. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the planning and to everyone who came out to help us celebrate.

Thanks to Kelsey, for photographing our wedding day. I can’t believe you actually pulled it off – photographer and matron-of-honor. Cheers to that! The images you captured truly tell the story of our wedding as the day unfolded. We could not have imagined anyone else being our wedding photographer. Words cannot express how delighted we are with the images.

A big thanks goes out to our band Cactus Hill … you were awesome!  Thanks for the entertainment and for setting the mood!

We’d also like to extend a Thank You to Blossom Khardt. The flowers turned out beautifully and you were wonderful to work with.

Lastly, to my mom and dad, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything. My mom thought I was crazy when I told her my dream wedding was going to be stylized with mason jars hanging from ladders and trees, hallowed out tree stumps, lots of burlap, and, of course, billy balls. And my dad, he just went with the flow of things. After a bit of convincing, my mom got the vision and made it happen. Thanks for all your hard work. We couldn’t have pulled it off without you.

Snapshots of the lantern launch and fireworks coming soon….

Ashton + Dylan

Ashton and Dylan are one of the sweetest couples you’ll ever meet. They are our dear friends and we were so honored when they asked us to photograph their wedding day. And we enjoyed every minute of it. The day was lovely, classic, & stress-free. Just the way your wedding day should be.  Thank you for inviting us to capture this sweet time in your lives.

Ever Lovely Photography

Ever Lovely Photography…

We picked up our cameras in April of 2010 and haven’t looked back. We are enjoying every step of the way in starting a business doing what we truly LOVE. We feel so incredibly blessed to have been able to work with so many amazing families, seniors, and couples our first year in business  – to our friends, we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts for entrusting us to be a part of such a special time in your lives. It’s the friendships we’ve built that reinforce time-after-time why we love what we do.

The biggest challenge our first year in business was landing on  a name and creating a brand identity.  After a year of going through endless name ideas, we landed on Ever Lovely Photography and have some sweet branding in store for you after working with illustrator and graphic designer Mary Kate McDevitt! Now, we welcome you all to our blog. We hope you find your time on our blog enjoyable and inspiring.

What have we been up to? Many of you know, yours truly (Kylee) is getting married in just 2 days. We decided to take some time off to allow for Kylee to enjoy the final months of wedding planning. You may be wondering who is photographing the wedding… WE are! As complicated as it may sound, we couldn’t imagine anyone else photographing her special day. It’ll be OK. Trust us!

Thank you so much for visiting our blog. We are so excited and grateful for the weddings we have booked for 2011 and for 2012.  It’s our promise to you that we will continue to raise the bar on what we do and how we do it.

Kelsey just returned from the beautiful island of Kauai. She’s got some fabulous pictures cooking in the oven that we are anxious to share with you. Here’s a sneak peek to whet your appetite.

…Kelsey fell in love with our tilt-shift lens on her trip 🙂
